Virginia, 12/21/17

Today we congratulate Virginia for getting out of her homeless situation and into a rental of her own. We were happy to build a budget with Virginia and after she found a rental that fit her budget we were happy to pay her security deposit so she could move in. Read her story below:

Hi OTS, My name is Virginia. The reason I need Off the Streets to help assist me with a security deposit is because I have been living on the street in my broke down car at Veterans Park in Long Beach CA since July 31 2017. I live on a fix income from SSI and I can’t afford move in deposit. My previous landlord decided to no longer participate in the section 8 program which causes me to have to move with nowhere to go and no money to pay move in cost for a new place. I’m 71yrs old with diabetes and high blood pressure living in the park. It would mean the world to me if I can get assistance from your organization to help me get back into a safe place to live from living outside. To shower and eat a hot meal. Thank you so much. -Virginia
