Tia and her 3 kids, 5/26/17

Tia - Housing For The Homeless - Off The Streets Huntington BeachToday we congratulate Tia and her 3 kids for getting into their own home. After leaving her last apartment to avoid an eviction, this single Mom and her kids have been sleeping in their car, a shelter, and couch hopping to stay sheltered. Read her story below:

Dear OTS,
Currently, I am homeless and just got approved for an apartment. I became homeless on March 5th after my husband and I split. He left me with our three children and a large rent payment. I was laid off from my job which resulted in me losing my apartment because the rent was too high and I could no longer afford it. The landlord gave me the option of turning in my keys to avoid an eviction on my record so I had to turn them in. From there I had to stay in my car several nights with my 3 children, a homeless shelter and with family on their couch. I have three children at 7 months, four years old and eight years old. I need assistance with coming up with my security deposit for my move-in cost. I got approved for an apartment and need help with the move in cost.
Thank you, Tia

Tia and her 3 kids bring our total placements this year to 76 and our grand total to 386 since we started our charity in 2014.
