Please join us in congratulating Tania and her 3 boys for getting into their own rental today. After losing her last place they have been living in motes and with friends. When Tania called we built a budget with her and determined how much rent she could afford. After she found a rental that fit this budget we were happy to pay her security deposit so they could move in and have their own place again. Read her story below.
Dear OTS,
Hi my name is Tania and i am in a homeless situation with my three sons. We were living prior to becoming homeless in my moms home. My mom passed away 2 years ago this May. After her passing myself and my oldest adult son took over the mortgage and utilities. For one year things went ok. Than after my oldest had a baby and decided to move out. At the time i was in between jobs so paying the mortgage on my own was to difficult. i had two family members move in to help with bills. Eventually they too stop helping. So before we would lose the home to foreclosure, we decided to sell the home. Well it sold faster than we anticipated. So we were given a 10 day notice to quit. It all happened just to fast for me and my kids. We than found ourselves living from motel to motel. Including our beloved pets. For they are part of my family. Since June we have been staying in motels. It has become very expensive and has caused a great hardship on me and my boys. Paying for motel stay is costing us more than it would cost for us to move into a permanent home. So moving into to this apartment would be a great deal for me and my sons. now with school starting up again i want my sons to be able to have a permanent place to call home. Becoming homeless has put its toll on me and my kids. Since i been working my new job my goal is to get us back into a home. With Off The Streets help I’m praying this will all be possible. The motel stay has taken most of my savings so being able to have to pay for rent and the deposit would be extremely hard for me to do right now. Help with the deposit would definitely able to move in to the apartment we need so bad. This week i had to move me and my kids into a friends home for the week until i get paid and my son gets paid. It’s only temporary so your help is greatly appreciated. Without off the streets help i don’t know what me and my kids will do. Thank you for your time!
