Lynne, 3/26/15

Disabled and living in her car, but now in a home of her own…

Today we placed our 72nd homeless individual into permanent housing. Several years ago Lynne was severely injured in a car accident and it took considerable time for her to recover just her basic functions, including learning how to walk and talk again. She lost her ability to work and became unemployed. For the last year she’s been living in her car. Less than a week ago, she called us, we built a budget with her, and determined she had enough disability income for her to afford a modest rental. As such, today we paid her security deposit directly to the landlord and Lynne no longer has to live in her car. We wish Lynne the very best in her new place!
