Germanni and her son, 12/29/15

Germanni and son 12-29-15We are so happy to congratulate Germanni and her son today for ending their last few months of homelessness. During this time they have been staying in motels, couch hopping with friends, and even staying in her car at times (no place for a 3 year old boy!). Germanni is employed and based on the budget we built with her she had enough for the rent but not enough for the security deposit. So today, we helped pay her deposit which allowed them to move in. Here is their story in her own words: “Hello, My name is Germanni and I have a 3 year old son. I have been struggling financially for most of Ryan’s life, but always maintained a place to live. Last year my grandma passed away and not only was I her main caregiver, we were really close. Her hospitalization and subsequent death resulted in me missing a lot of time from work. When I finally got back into the swing of things, I was too behind and could not catch up. Since losing my apartment in December of 2014 (not an eviction) we have been staying with friends and renting a room. My landlord decided that she was going to move herself in August of this year, so that resulted in us being homeless again. I am capable of paying my monthly rent and bills, I am just struggling with obtaining enough money at one time for the security deposit and first month’s rent. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your consideration and time. Sincerely, Germanni”
