Please join us in congratulating Endiya and her 5 kids for ending their homeless situation today. Due to an unforeseen notice to vacate and the loss of child support, Endiya needed our help to pay the security deposit so her family could move into another rental. Read her story below.
Dear OTS,
My Landlord gave me a 90 day notice in June because she wanted to raise the rent but not make necessary repairs. Then we got into a disagreement to several leaks on the property that were going on for months due to negligence. Once I mentioned to her that I was seeking damages for my property that was mildewed and trashed due to water leaking on it, she served me with a notice to vacate. I have a housing voucher but they first have to inspect the property and I have to come up with the Security Deposit by in order to move in. I do not have it because because my child support stopped last year because my kids father lost his job, or ran out of work and my payments stopped coming. I was only able to email my current proof of income print to you today. I also do not have a car at this time. I need this help so bad I don’t know what else to do. I was told to apply here by 211 for emergency assistance. I am doing everything I can to stay stable with my 5 kids, and unfortunately their lives have now been disrupted because they will have to leave the schools they have been going to for years due to this unexpected move and relocation so I need to make sure I find a home for them so we are not homeless by the end of the month. Thankfully these owners are nice enough to wait for a payment from an agency such as yours, if I’m able to find one in time, so please any help you can provide will be very much needed and appreciated. God Bless and Thanks again for any help.
Sincerely, Endiya
