Today we congratulate Christine and her 5 boys for ending their homeless situation by getting into their own rental. They have been living with family, in a shelter, and most recently in a co-worker’s garage. When Christine called we built a budget with her and after she found a rental that fit this budget we were happy to pay their security deposit so they could move in. Read their story below:
Dear OTS,
When we moved in with my mom we were staying in her living room and since we had no privacy it was always an issue. We moved out of my moms house when she kicked us out about April 18, 2018. One of my closest friends offered us to stay at her house in Riverside, CA then I got into the Path of Life family shelter in Riverside as well on April 27, 2018. We got into the shelter that day. We stayed until our exit date which was August 6, 2018. Due to it only being a temporary stay and me not finding housing my coworker offered us to stay in the garage in San Bernardino until we found a place. I have been spending a lot of gas money from driving from San Bernardino daily because my children’s schools and daycare is in Riverside and work is in San Bernardino. So I need assistance with the security deposit and if possible my first months rent portion. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Christine
This family brings our placements this year to 162 and our grand total since we started OTS in 2014 up to 672. Read more about our work of housing the homeless at OTSHB.COM
