We congratulate Danielle and her son today for getting out of their homeless situation and into a rental of their own. They have been living in a shelter since last November. We built a budget with Danielle and she was able to find a rental that was within her budget. Read her story below:
My son and I are seeking assistance from OTS to obtain a roof over our heads. I have become homeless due to rising cost of living it’s a challenge to maintain housing on a fixed income. I could not afford the rent increase and had to vacate my apartment. I have been staying in a hotel between a hotel, occasionally with a friend, and most recently in a shelter. I don’t have a car so I rely on public transportation, which has been a hardship getting my son to and from school. Everyday when I awake I don’t look forward to whats the days going to bring. I feel like I’m being held captive, because I”m in a situation that I didn’t do anything wrong. I just want it to end, and be set free. Due to the urgency of my situation, not only do I not have an apartment, but I don’t have the funds for the security deposit. I’m in a tough situation and I need OTS to help. Thank you, Danielle
From all of us at OTS, we wish you and your son the very best in your new home!
Danielle and her son were the 28th person we’ve helped this year, and the 338th since our start up just under 3 years ago.
