Kimberly - Housing The Homeless - Off The Streets Huntington BeachToday we congratulate Kimberly for ending her homeless situation and getting into a home of her own. Kimberly has been homeless off and on over the last 4 years living in shelters, her car, and couch hopping when possible. We will soon be providing furniture to give her a new start in her apartment. Read her story here:

Dear OTS,
I lost my section 8 voucher in March 2013. I then spent all of my money on hotels and ended up living in my car off and on for the past four years. Up till May 3 I have only had to spend the night in my car 9 days out of the month due to my friend allowing me to sleep on her couch while looking for a place to live. I have been in and out of transitional shelters the whole time and to leave the last shelter because of bed bug infestation. Basically I have been homeless 8 times in years and 10 times in 4 years. My immediate need is to get a safe place to live with a roof over my head. I was approved yesterday for a 1 bedroom and I can afford it but need help paying the deposit. It’s been rough losing my home and being in/ out of transitional homes and I have abided by their rules but now this has taken a toll on me. I need my own home. Please help me and you already have my approved Budget.
Thank you, Kimberly

Kimberly, from all of us at OTS, Congratulations on your new home!

Kimberly is the 92nd person we’ve placed this year, and the 402nd since our startup in June of 2014.
