After a year of being without a home, we were happy to help Johnnie with her security deposit today so she could get into an apartment of her own. It took her about 3 months to find something that fit the budget that we built with her, but she did it! Her story:

Hi my name is Johnnie and I am 34 years old. I became homeless due to a split in a volatile relationship. I was living with my ex­-boyfriend and unfortunately he put me out of the apartment we shared. I was not on thelease so there was nothing I could do. That was a year ago. Since then, I have been staying in hotels around the Orange County area as well as couch surfing at friends places when they let me. I also worked to repair my credit over that time. Today I found an apartment that meets the income/budget requirements.
