Please join us in congratulating ‘Fran’ (identity protected) and her 2 kids for escaping their homeless situation by getting into an their own apartment today. Due to domestic violence they have been homeless since 2015. We were happy to lend a hand up by helping ‘Fran’ with the security deposit so they could move in. Read her story below:
I am single Mom of 2 kids homeless due to a domestic violence incident between me and my ex of nine years. But after losing everything to my abuser who was controlling, and had a drug abuse addiction, I finally started finding strength in Christ to reach out for help and come out about the abuse, I finally started finding strength to let go and fight back against domestic violence and got the support and help I needed by moving away and on with my life Starting over here at the women’s shelter has been life changing I’m now working, I have my own place, just needing help getting on my feet. I. I was just approved to move into my new apartment and am starting a new caregiver job. I won’t get my my first paycheck for a few weeks so I am in need of your help to assist in with my security deposit. I just need this one time help as a jump start.
