‘Elaine’, 3/23/18

Today we congratulate ‘Elaine’ (name changed and picture blurred to protect privacy) for ending her homeless situation by getting into her own rental. We were happy to pay her security deposit after she found a rental that fit the budget we built with her. We will soon be providing ‘Elaine’ essential furniture and household goods. Read her story below:

I became homeless on January 31, 2018 due to loss of my job. I was a resident manager for an apartment complex so losing my job meant losing my home. I’ve always been very independent and been able to do well for myself. I had no idea this was going to happen and it was suddenly so you can only imagine I didn’t know what to do or where to look but I found Off the Streets to .help me to help myself get back on my feet. I have been fortunate enough for my friend to allow me to stay in her home since I became homeless. I mainly have been staying with her or with her other family members and in their homes. I am determined to get back on my feet and do what I need to do to avoid ever being in this position again. I am very appreciative for the assistance.

‘Elaine’ brings our placements this year to 34 and our grand total since we started OTS just under 4 years ago to 544. Read more about our charity at OTSHB.COM.
