Larry, 7/21/14

Larry at his apt doorWe were able to place Larry, our 3rd person placed, into an apartment today by paying his upfront security deposit. Until now, Larry has been staying at the Salvation Army Shelter. Larry has been living in temporary situations since December 2013, when a relationship ended and he had to move out.  The issue was further compounded when he also lost a job. Since then, he has been living in temporary shelters, weekly motels (when he had the funds available), couch-hopping, and sometimes literally sleeping on the streets. With the help of Off The Streets and one of the Housing Authorities here in Orange County, he will now be able to move into his own studio apartment.  Larry was was able to get enough SSI income to afford an apartment and just needed our financial help upfront to get over the initial costs to get placed.

He recently started attending a local church and  is also in the process of enrolling in a local community college, where he would like to take Theater/Performing Arts classes.  So things are moving in a very positive direction for him right now.

We wish Larry the best in his own place!
